Past the Mountain Gate, a passage way on the left leads to the Hall of Bodhisattva Skanda, the main entrance of the monastery.
The first in sight in the hall is the welcoming and jovial Buddha Maitreya (Buddha of the Future); behind him, Bodhisattva Skanda, "the valiant general who as Bodhisattva can contain and tame all evil and demons, and who may well be ready to release himself to become Buddha".
On the two wings of the hall, stand the Four Heavenly Kings.
The Main Shrine Hall of the Buddha opens up behind the Hall of Bodhisattva Skanda. A central court connects the two halls. The central court is where major functions and ceremonies of the monastery are held. Flanking the central court on the wings are two pavilions, planted with flowers and trees, providing shaded shelters for people. A lotus pond rests quietly below the low wall on the right. Looking back from here, you will see the Big Buddha rising majestically on the horizon.
